Scott & Beth’s Bathroom Remodel

King Oaks

Scott and Beth’s master bathroom remodel was originally motivated by a shower pan leak: an all too common problem in our area. Many homes are built too quickly and without proper waterproofing in wet areas. Additionally, our clay soil in the Brazos Valley causes a lot of foundation movement, often resulting in cracked shower pans. Homeowners are left with nothing to stop the water penetrating through their shower surround and damaging everything around it.

While they considered just replacing their shower, the original layout of their bathroom was very inefficient. They, instead, decided to do a full redesign of their bathroom. This allowed them to gain a much larger shower, a true vanity area, and a tub that is easier to get into. The only plumbing element that we did not relocate was the toilet. Now, their bathroom layout makes much better use of the space!

Scott and Beth live in King Oaks, and have beautiful greenery and wildlife around their home. They wanted their bathroom to reflect these natural elements, but without feeling too rustic. Beth was inspired by some green shower tile from images she found online, and the rest of the bathroom design spun off of that. The stone-look floor tile has a great texture that is natural feeling (with the durability of porcelain), and without being a strong pink or orange beige tile common in a lot of early 2000s homes. The Taj Mahal quartzite solid surfaces are absolutely gorgeous, but neutral enough to let the green tile be the star. Champagne bronze for all the fixtures adds delicacy to the dark stained cabinets. We absolutely love the design of this bathroom, and the way it marries natural elements with luxury.

“We are so pleased with the results of having chosen Buck and his team for our full bathroom remodel. At first, we were unsure whether to just repair the issues with our less than optimal space, or do a complete remodel. Buck walked us through our options with a Project Development plan, cost estimates, and layout drawings. The level of detail was amazing. Throughout the whole process communication was fantastic. Renee’s eye for detail and knowledge of products really helped pull everything together from counters to tile to fixtures and paint. And the in-house cabinets by Hunter are just beautiful. We really appreciated having a Scope of Work package with each step outlined in detail. Our site manager Randy let us know each week what and who to expect. Their team and subcontractors were professional, polite, and left the work area clean each day. Buck and Renee made sure any issues with contractor work were corrected to our, and their, satisfaction. We now have a beautiful and truly functional master bathroom.”
